Our response to COVID-19

Keeping our residents safe

Bellevue Care Centre would like to extend their gratitude to all residents, families, representatives, providers and suppliers for their support during these challenging times.

Bellevue Care Centre understands the importance of effective infection control measures, especially in these unprecedented times. We continue to work closely with State and Federal Health authorities to ensure that we are doing everything within our means to keep our residents and staff safe.

Important information

Advice from State and Federal Health authorities is being updated regularly and we ask you to please click here to access the most current information. The Queensland government has also issued multiple health directions, some of which are specific to the aged care sector. Specific directions in relation to restrictions on visitors to residential aged care facilities, can be found here.

  • Formation of an Emergency Response Committee which meets monthly or more often as needed to discuss and update the facility’s management plans;

  • Abiding by Federal and State Health Departments’ advice and regulatory requirements and reviewing these daily;

  • Providing additional training to all staff in regard to hand hygiene, infection control, managing risks related to COVID transmission and processes to follow in the event of a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within our facility;

  • Practising social distancing at all times where possible;

  • Securing adequate stocks of personal protective equipment;

  • Human Resource planning in the event of staff illness;

  • Screening of all persons who enter the facility, including staff prior to the commencement of each shift;

  • Ensuring all people on site have a current influenza vaccination and provide proof of this prior to entry.

Important steps

Bellevue Care Centre has, and continues to implement initiatives to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19

Ensuring resident & visitor safety

Visitors and prospective residents

Hand hygiene

Hand hygiene is one of our simplest yet strongest defences against the spread of COVID-19. Please ensure that you wash your hands before attending the facility, use the hand sanitiser provided and refrain from touching your face when onsite. These simple measures play an important role in keeping those within the Bellevue Care Centre Community safe.

Health screening form

Bellevue Care Centre requires all visitors to our facility to complete a Health Screening form prior to entry. This form requires you to answer questions pertaining to symptoms, recent travel, contact with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 and current influenza vaccination status. We thank our visitors in advance for completing this form and for their support in keeping our loved ones safe.

Visiting

Bellevue Care Centre continues to review its visiting arrangements at weekly management planning meetings. We are committed to remaining open to visitors as we value the important role they play in supporting our residents. Please see the latest information distributed to residents and representatives for current visiting arrangements.

Prospective residents

We continue to conduct personalised tours for prospective residents. Tours will be conducted in a manner consistent with Bellevue Care Centre’s policies in relation to COVID-19 risk management. We encourage you to contact reception on (07) 3550 5999 or email info@bellcare.biz to schedule an appointment for a personalised tour.

Bellevue Care Centre continues to accept new admissions. A risk assessment will be completed by our senior clinical team to ensure that all precautions are taken to protect our existing and prospective residents.
